Beware An Ancient Door

Beware an Ancient Door
I won’t be condemned
By these frenzied awful hoards
So I looked him in the eyes and asked
“Is it hell you’re walking towards?”
How dare you judge me
With your narrow minded views
I said “but Andrew
It’s not your place to abuse”
And in a cowards shaking tone
He wished for my demise
So I looked him in the eyes
And I said “likewise”
He said “we all have
our needs and our wants”
I said “but Andrew
A nonce is a nonce is a nonce...”
I’m mystified by this circus
I thought I’d seen it all
Why’d they think that they can hurt us
We run the ground on which they crawl
There’s a structure in place that they
Should accept and be grateful for
Enable us to live our way
It’s not worth knocking at that ancient door
What’s really wrong with how I love?
You made these boundaries for yourselves
We keep our tabs from up above
It’s not our world in which to delve

Limeade

Limeade
“‘Limeade’ is an arc of feeling. From dejection, through futility and into acceptance.
Everyday we are faced with a world that gives us reason to feel low, and everyday we’re
told to lend our attention to places beyond our comprehension, a new trouble lurks at
every passing minute. But there is a beauty and we must seek it. It’s imperative that we
feel good and that we discover pleasure, for everyone’s sake.” - Harry Jones
Everywhere I know
Seems to have to close its doors
Well, foreclose of my hopes
I can’t keep up these feelings anymore
I think folk are misguided
But I just want them to be free
I hope they get their heaven
And that there’s nothing there for me
I spend my days feeling sorry
But who deserves my pity most?
Well, thinking so catastrophically
Gets you nowhere, I suppose
Maybe I should concentrate
And put my energy elsewhere
Maybe I should concentrate
On a little self care
And do you still make limeade
When life only gives you limes?
Well, it’s okay
To be selfish sometimes
